This weekend I have been attending the conference Hagiographic Identities: Catholic Communities and their Saints in Early Modern Times hosted by the Faculty of Philology at Vilnius University and organised by Dr Patryk Ryczkowski. On Friday I presented a paper, ‘Nicolaus Hussovianus’ De vita et gestis divi Hyacinthi (1525) and the Kraków Dominicans: Poetry, Cult and Canonisation’ as part of a panel on Hagiographic Glocality hosted by Dr Eleonora Terleckienė (which also included a presentation by Dr Liudas Jovaiša on attempts by the Lithuanian Jesuit province to advance candidates for canonisation. Although I was unable to attend the entire conference I am very grateful to the conference organisers for hosting me and for setting up such a fascinating conference.
