I have just been appointed Series Editor (with Dr Tabitha Stanmore) of a brand new series for Cambridge University Press, Elements in Folklore. CUP’s Elements are short publications of around 30,000 words in length that are briefer than a monograph but longer than an article, and offer scholars the opportunity to explore subjects that might otherwise be neglected. Elements in Folklore will welcome proposals for Elements on all aspects of folklore – global or local, ancient or modern, traditional or novel – and it aims to open up an opportunity to communicate their most exciting ideas and research interests in a field where publication is not always straightforward.
