My article ‘Anglican Exorcism: How The Church of England Returned to Casting Out Devils’ has been published in the Autumn 2018 edition of Paranormal Review, the magazine of the Society for Psychical Research (SPR). The article largely summarises the argument of my recent book A History of Anglican Exorcism, and seeks to answer the question of why the Church of England so readily embraced the ministry of exorcism in the second half of the twentieth century after centuries of scepticism about the practice.
