At 11.15 this morning I was interviewed by Mark Murphy on BBC Radio Suffolk as part of ‘Suffolk’s BIG Conversation’ about Where is St Edmund? Mark asked me about the new evidence I have uncovered, although once again, attention was focussed primarily on the tennis courts in the Abbey Ruins as a possible location of St Edmund’s body. I hope that I managed to make clear that my research strongly suggests a location somewhere in the Abbey Ruins – not necessarily the tennis courts as previously suggested. Mark was not quite right to suggest that St Edmund’s body may have ended up in London – historians are agreed that the body returned to Bury in 1013 – but he seemed well-informed about the ‘Toulouse hypothesis’. Overall, I was happy with the interview and I am grateful to Mark and the other staff at BBC Radio Suffolk for interviewing me.
